How are Budda Cabinets for metal and hardcore? (this is for guitar)

my guitarist bought the Budda 4x12 cabinet and i was just wondering.. havent heard much of this company..

He bought it without trying it out first? Why not try playing on it and seeing what it sounds like? I don't know much about them, but it seems to me that if you have a particular sound in mind, you should see if that cab can get it. Most of the tone will come from the guitar player anyhow. Then it's the guitar, the head, and lastly the speaker in the cab. Not always true, and there are some who will point out that different speakers handle guitar tones in different manners, but bottom line, if your friend already bought it, ask him if you can play on it. What type of music does he play?

metal / hardcore but all types really hes in my band.. he just bought the cabinet and hes going to get the head...

Ah, Ok... now it makes more sense. I would go down to the store where he bought it and try out the whole package there. Another thing you may want to try is to plug whatever head you have on hand and see what it can do. Just watch out for impedence and such.

There is obviously going to be a variation of sound just in the over size and shape and material, but it won't make such a difference that Hardcore is immediately out of the question just becuase its a from X brand. If it sounds good then tell everyone else to fuck off.

PS
Budda is a kickass company.

budda amps are designed for more of a classic tone aren't they? i doubt there will be a problem getting the tone he wants out of the cab, but i'm not so sure about the head. i'm sure it's a great head, but from the little that i've read about budda stuff, i was under the impression the weren't a high gain amp. that was quite a while ago that i read about them though.

if it's the Superdrive 80 head..

The Superdrive 80 head has plenty of gain! Because it's Budda, it also has plenty of tone. I've played one a couple of times and they are great. I have the Superdrive 30 myself, and it also has a lot of gain. I never go over half on the gain knob. I'm not a metal guitarist either, but it can get some those tones if that is what you are reaching for. Their cabs are well made. I believe they use different Eminence speakers depending on the cab and wattage needed. I almost bought the cab that had two tens and two twelves in it a couple of years back. It was cool.

rock on.
