Hello everyone,

I recently got rid of my old behringer mixer and upgraded to an audio interface - the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB. It is perfect for what I need and I was excited to open it up. Long story short, when I installed the drivers and restarted the computer I got a BSOD flash for 1-2seconds because of a bad driver. Windows tries to repair itself but fails and it is stuck on a loop where it just restarts/tries to repair itself and fails. I tried doing a system restore for the last saved settings but that didn't work either.

Any ideas? Can I boot it with the command prompt and do something to uninstall the drivers from there?

Thanks!

If you get into the recovery console using the Windows disk you can find the driver .dll (if you know what it's called) in the Windows folder on your system drive and delete it from there.

You might have to do some research to find out what file to delete, though. Be careful!

Cheers :)

I deleted the .dll and reinstalled the driver and it worked. The problem is that after a couple restarts the issue comes up again. I just don't understand why it doesn't consistently fail.

At least all isn't lost.
Silly question (maybe) but if you definitely installing the correct version for your OS?

It'd be worth google that driver or dll file name for known conflicts.

Glad it worked.

Yeah, check online for maybe an older version of the driver. It might work better with your system.

Cheers :)
