It appears you are starting to get some requests from the BBS to do some mastering. That's great. Will this be something you will start to offer in your new studio? Are you gearing up for this as well now, and any new equipment specifically for such?

btw...what equipment are you looking to use in your new facility (your tracking/mixing studio), and will it be located at home as well?...or are you building from scratch?

I've been looking to build from scratch now at my current residence (separate building, etc...I've got a fair amount of land and space to do it), and it is nice to hear about the good/horror stories of others doing the same route. Since I've been doing this at home (for fun mainly, rather than as a job), I find that my house is quickly becoming toooo small.

I'm not sure why I'm getting more requests for mastering.... Blue Bear Sound is a multitrack recording facility, not a mastering house...!

I will do some casual tweaking for clients on a budget -- but I wouldn't call it mastering!

I am confident however, that I could do a better job "mastering" than a novice with a few plug-ins.....


I am building the new studio at my residence -- 2 tracking rooms and a booth, plus a comfortable control room.

I hired John for the design work and he came up with an excellent one......! I am anxious to see it come together -- got contractors now working quotes for me.... the new Blue Bear Sound is still targeted for re-opening in April.... and I'll be posting pics as the work progresses........!
