Broomstick Bass in Cubase: notes don't ring long enough

Hello!
I am trying to use ?broomstick bass? in cubase as a sound sample for my pre edited midi-bassline. But It seems that broomstick bass only knows one standard length for each tone. I cannot make it shorter nor longer. Regardless of the tone-length in cubase?s piano-roll editor ? broomstick gives each note the same (relatively short) length. I?ve looked in the midi event list and there are no hidden tone-release events whatsoever.
Any suggestions?

thanks, fitzli

b.t.w.: when I press a piono-key in the broomstick-bass window it is exactly the other way round: notes ring out very long, even when I release the key quickly.

No suggestions whatsoever, but I suspect it's that way- and not "fixable-" because REAL broomstick (or Washtub) basses are pretty much tub-thumpers with very little sustain- the fakie there is just mimicking the real thing.

Actually, I CAN offer some advise- on the long notes when you press a piano key... DON'T DO THAT! :D
