My Absorption panels currently use Burlap for the fabric. With the new ones I will construct for my studio makeover, I want to have better looking fabric (other color options as well). Besides GoM which seems to be hard to find without ordering it online, can someone recommend some good breathable fabrics that do as good as job as burlap that would offer me more variety in appearances?

I know I can just hold the fabric up to my mouth and if I can breathe thru it, then it should pass thge test. But to be honest thats almost ANY fabric I have tested, hehe. So I know some have got to better than others in this regard.

Any suggestions?

you should be able to breathe EASILY through it.

I tend to be fond of craft felts. Smooth appearance, very open, lots of colors. Just be sure to flameproof it.

yea, I hear you about easily...just wondered what most other peopl use so I can broaden my horizons. Felt, hmm ~ I will check it out, thanks for the suggestion.

When you say fireproof it you mean spray some 3M spray on it or is there a better way?

Thanks

Not sure if you can find it but...
I used speaker cloth that you would see on vintage radios and speaker systems that I found at a fabric store for custom speaker cabinets I built a few years back.

I'm going to try and track down some more when I build my traps.
It has a great look to it... vintage and musical.

This isn't a very good picture but you can kinda get the idea...

If you want black panels, which I personally think look pretty suave, go to the garden centre and buy a roll of weed control fabric. Its cheap and effective :)

Interesting ;)

I was hoping for like Red or Purple, but eh..I can always dream hehe...

I'll second the felt idea. That's what I used, and I really think it looks sharp. You can stretch it a bit (so it's good for wrapping around stuff without wrinkles), yet it's relatively strong. Also, the edges don't fray at all, which a lot of other fabrics will.

again, whats the best way to fireproof it? 3m spray or something better?

thanks ~
