Just curious if anyone either owns or has used one?? What do you think? What are its tonal characteristic? Bright, dark, breathy, grainy, tubby???

Obviously is is an expensive mic, so how does it compare to others in the same price range. I have been eyeing the e47 for a while but a mic purchase like this is a very serious investment for mortals like me. I would hate to spend 3-5k on a mic and not like it. Main purpose would be female vocals for rock and fusion. Singer has warm lower voice and edgy mid/high voice. I am looking for a mic that has lots of air and breath.

Thanks in advance

I used one to record Rick Ruskin's guitar for Brauner at an AES show in San Francisco several years ago - it's a very nice mic. I preferred the Soundfield mic we also used, but the Brauner was very nice. Very open sounding.

I spent four days with the Brauner, recording about 6 hours every day, switching back and forth between the Brauner and the Soundfield. Plus, Dirk Brauner is a great guy and very dedicated to good sound.
