hello,

i've recently made the move from a 424portastudio to the boss br800
I'm looking to run an old two track as a pre-amp (not sure if that's the right term) into the boss to get the sound i like, but with the security/reliability of digital recording.

I just have a few n00b questions before i get going.

so, i have the BR800, and i have a set of passive Behringer 1C monitors. How do i link the two? I think i need some kind of power amp (again not sure on the terminology), is that right? If it is, what would you guys recommend i buy.. i'm looking for something cheap, that'll do the job.

Anything else you'll think i'll need?

ill try and attach some of the stuff i was recording before on the porta;

thanks for the help

Yes, you need a stereo amp to power those monitors. 'Cheap' is relative - what's your budget? As the speakers themselves are nothign great (low frequency only to 60Hz, for example), you could probably get away with a real cheap amp (although I hear the Chinese cheap ones on ebay are not worth anything - to much harmonic distortion at low levels to be useful).
You could look for an old stereo receiver or amp you could use for this. I found an old Sony amp on craigslist for $30 to power some bookshelf speakers I had sitting around.
