ok....I'm a one man band using the boss microbr, so im trying to decide if i should get the br800 or the upgraded br80. I wonder if the br800 is more than I need. what do you think?

I guess that depned on how you do things? Overtracking, exporting to computer, or mixing in the recorder ...
Personally, after using a BR600 for my first album, then moving to computer recording - I'd never recommend anyone use a stand-alone recorder unless they need the portability and didn't have a laptop.

I have a BR800 and love using it for recording. I also use Reaper and Cakewalk DAWs for recording. I find it easier, and faster to record on the BR800, and I will also export the tracks from the BR800 into Reaper (actually I just brought Cakewalk SONAR since it was $29) for adding drum loops (I have DrumCore). I created a series of video tutorials Youtube on the BR800.
