BR8 monitor speakers

looking for info for monitor speakers to use with the BR-8. Right now I am just using my stereo and speakers but it does not allow me to really hear the sound before burning to disc. Any ideas on what would work for a modest price?

Well first let me say that you have plenty to chose from. I tried the Alesis M1 first and they were fine until I noticed the woofers were starting to split where the screws were on the outside of the speaker, SCARY. Returned those to good ole Guitar Center and bought the Event PS8 for 600.00 a pr. I find these work well enough for the money. I like the the fact that they are active and bi-amped. I have my Br8 and the Events in the corner of my studio on top of my home stereo cabinet so I can mix and listen to the project through the old stereo and compare sounds. I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that everybody has there own opinion on reference monitors. I find the only opinion that counts is your own ears. The Events were designed by some old pros in the business, in fact they help design the M1 for Alesis. Conclusion is you need to go try out all the monitors available and make a choice. Hit the internet for info on whatever monitor your after and then have a good time with your new mini studio. RDRCKR
