I just received it yesterday but have not loaded it yet. The only thing I KNOW of is that it fixes the tempo map problem when entereing tempo changes above bar/measure 100. I plan on loading it up tonight. Should I be worried?

;) NO I wouldn't be roland seems real together. I love this machine and wondered if anyone had tried it.I have the upgrade on my computers hard drive.I read your post about tempo map bug but I haven't done anything with tempo changes. It just seems to be a really nice all in one machine thats easy to use.A little slow to load but I can live with that.

I upgraded mine last night with no problem. The tempo problem is fixed along wtih I don't know what else! ;-)

I just did my 1600 upgrade as well and everything went just as it was supposed to. COOL!

What's the address of the Roland site that contains the upgrade?

Kevin, Thanks for the info, I downloaded the upgrade and it loaded fine. I got my Boss 1600CD last week and I'm still scratching my head over the manual. I can do all of the recording, etc. but the drums are defeating me at the moment. I seem to get half way through the song and the drums stop. Not sure I really understand what's going on. The manual is fine at telling you what the parameters do but not why you might want to use them. Are there any tutorials you are aware of?

Yes, go to the roland website and order the DVD OWNERS MANUAL that should help. That and a lot of just working with the machine. I'm learning something new on it all the time. If you've never had a drum machine or done any kind of programing it will help you get started. The guy shows how to program the drums and bass for a 12 bar blues pattern and that's always a good starting point. Also if you just want the drums to play hit pattern not arrangment (next to the edit button) to play a single pattern over and over I think you're trying to play along with the arrangments and you have to set them up to play longer to fit your song.

Thanks for the tip. Am I right in assuming that a drum pattern is a set of drum beats of a fixed length that just repeats over and over and that an arrangment is a collection of patterns?

By DVD OWNERS MANUAL do you mean "Roland and BOSS Demo Video Compilation DVD - Volume 2 (Item #MI-DEMODVD-V2)" advertised in the Superstore?

No ,thats not it.go to the roland website ,then superstore ,then VIDEO OWNERS MANUALS .then you'll see the one for the BR-1600 CD.Also yes to your comment about drum patterns.

Kevin, Thanks, I'm in the UK so I messaged the store where I bought my BR1600 to see if they had the DVD. Here's hoping.

I'm sure you'll track it down it just came out here a couple weeks ago it was delayed at the publisher for a month and a half and Roland just sent it out to me recently. It was on back order. The guy who hosts it ,David Wills is British. I've seen the ROLAND UK site and it's totally different than the US'S.
