Hey Sleepie Eddie,
This is a step by step of how I create drum tracks using the preset patterns,
1. Push edit while the red arrangement light is off, then use the cursor buttons to scroll across to the drums: P then pattern No.
2. Scroll through the patterns and write down what patterns I want to use, listen to each pattern by pressing play, you can scroll through while they are playing, letting you listen to each pattern.
3. Press exit.
4. Press arrangement so the red light comes on.
5. Press edit.
6. Press F4.
7. Measure 1 should be highlighted.
8. Press the cursor down and use the Time/Value dial to scroll through the Patterns.
9. When the Pattern is selected scroll across to Length and use the Time/Value dial to select the amount of measures. (Sometimes if you select a length of 1 measure it may not be long enough to cover the whole pattern)
10. Press the cursor up which takes you back to Measures, then scroll through the measures until the next blank measure and repeat Steps 8-10.
I hope this helps, I am currently learning how to create my own patterns using Real Time Recording.
When you create a pattern in Real Time you create a pattern of a cetrain time length, then save it as a user pattern. If you want to loop that pattern when you arrange a drum track using the above steps you enter the user pattern you created and select the amount of measures you want.
See how you go and let me know, I will help with anything if I can.
Good Luck!!
