check it out shana i have actually utilized the post effects to the maximum.to any track like say i wanted an effect on track 8 i set it up for effect to 8 ,set the record input to bounce, and record that track w/effect to say 7,then after i got the effected track, move it to the virtual 2nd on 8,voila,you have a dry channel on 8-1 and the effected one on8-2,you can do this to all the tracks one at a time or in stereo or whatever you need.i always keep the dry track on the 1st,then usual i have a few different choices on the same track ,but virtual 2,3,4.make sense?i have been able to forgo the entire mixdown process by adding all the effects that i need for vocals, guitars, keys, everything.as long as you have available virtual tracks and time, always clean up after bouncing ,and optimize,to make sure you can keep on doing it.go to http:/.allwwwcet.com ,this is the stuff i did with my sister in colorado and philly, actually recorded her playing guitar and singing and in philly i added all the overdubs, but all the vocals are donbe the way i described and the guitars and other effects and e.q.ing was done by bouncing them singly with the effect or even just a better e.q. to a virtual track then moved back to the orinal track.just remember, you don't heve to ever erase any original dry thing.please listen to the 2 songs ,because ,the one song "just like me",it has multiple effects on the vocals, and certain tracks contain multiple effects and layering, but i wanted subtlety,so well........i dunno ,check it out.i hope i am making sense.there is thjis whole br-8 manifesto on the internet,do a search, because it tells of a lot of really neat tricks, and helps tons-good luck-
