There is a terriable hum comming from the BR-8 when I connect a Boss GT-3 guitar processor to it. When the units are used alone, one disconnected when the other is connected, there's no hum. Both units have been placed on different circuits in the house...still hums. The GT-3 dosen't hum w/ anyother equipment (stereo, analog recorder) . New cords didn't work. Disconnected every electrical item in the house...no luck. Even ordered another GT-3 & transformer & connected....still hums when connected to the BR-8 (then sent it back of course). Could order another BR-8, I think it's transformer is bad. Boss/Roland have been no help. They seem totally disconnected from the customer & the nearest "service center" is 50 miles away. Any suggestions?

Why would you want to use a GT-3 when the guitar effects are modeled with the COSM? Try turning down the SENS level.

The GT-3 is 24 bit & the BR-8 is only 20 or maybe 16bit. The quality is superb. Besides, I had the Gt-3 before the br8 and it seems to be a waste. The gt3 is my main rig & there was no hum at 1st.

Try checking the noise/sound ratio. If the material is just recorded at a low level, when the levels are turned up for more volume the noise level (such as hiss or hum) also increases.

and don´t forget

To disconnect BR8´s effects!!
Try the noise gate, it can be helpful

Everything has been turned back or off. Even tried a friends Furman power conditioner & a hum eliminator. The hum is still there when connected to another piece of equipment. It works great on it's own. Think I'll sale it and upgrade. Thanx all.
