I have a track that a buddy recorded and sent to me and I have imported it into my BR 1600 with no propblem. I would like to use the bass simulator insert effect on the track. When I assign the effect to this track will it only be there during playback? Will the effect be there when I bounce and eventualy master the song or will the track be "dry" in the original sound that it was sent to me?

Thanks for you help

If you BOUNCE the mix down to a stereo pair, the effect will be 'written' (recorded) to the stereo tracks (usuall 9/10), but the original track will remain as it was when you loaded it.

Exactly what sp clark said.

It's the same with tracks that you record and then apply the effects during the mixdown, if you turn your effects off you will hear only what you recorded. Then when you go through the bounce down process your recorded tracks plus the effects you added will be applied. Then when Mastering is carried out you will be Mastering your bounced down tracks.
