Has anyone taken one apart and upgraded the hard drive? Just curious, with the massive amount of space on the hard drives that are out on the market now.

No, but recently I had some unknown files getting stored in my USB Folder that I couldn't delete or remove etc. So I did a back-up of all my tracks etc and was going to Initialise my hard drive and before you know it.......USB = Clean.

but
:) :) :)

right on Gorty. How much did you have stored and how long did it take to transfer the data to a computer, if you don't mind me asking.

I did a back-up about 2 years ago of about 8 songs each with about 25 tracks, including the virtual tracks. It took a couple of hours, I backed up to disc.
I have since found out that when you import back-up data back into the unit your hard drive has to be blank. That's the message I was getting anyway!

I recently tried to back up to my computer but I couldn't for some reason save all the files that I could see.?????

I am finishing a song at the moment and then I am going to try and back-up to my pc, initialize my hard drive and see if I can import some back-up data again!

When I owned the 1600, my hard-drive was defective.

I took the 40 out, and put another 40 in.

Load the OS back on, and the Ver. 2 upgrade and away you go.

As I recall, it went very smoothly, and only took about 1/2 hour.

Is there a particular Hard Drive that is a better performer for the BR1600CDR than the factory fitted Hard Drive?

The "slim line" Maxtor's overheat. They we're made from 2002 - 2004.

Usually in 30 to 40 gb.

I use Western Digital myself, but Seagate is also good.
