Hey Everyone,

I have had a BR-1600 for about 2 years now. I was doing some recording with it tonight and was having no problems at all. I then took the unit home and tried to power it on, but nothing happened. The lights would flash for a brief second, but then it would stay off.

I suspect that the AC Adapter (actually the power converter PSB-3U) is no longer working. Does that sound like a possibility? I ask that because if the converter was broken would the lights be flashing at all...

Thanks

actually if the supply was roached you probably wouldn't get lights at all... so most likely something else is wrong...

This is a long shot, but it is possible that the on/off switch is faulty and not clicking into the on position, and staying on by itself.
Try holding the on/off switch on and see if it stays on.
I don't think you would get any power indication at all if the power converter PSB-3U was faulty.
Check to see if the two leads that consist of your power convereter are pushed together tightly.

I'm just shooting the moon here!...

Let me know how you get on!

ok so i guess it was presumptious of me but i figured it also wasnt working in general.... it's ok gorty put down the bong... you'll feel better in the morning...

WTF.....????????????????????????????????????????????????????

i dont think it's a latching button... and the led flashing would indicate it's trying to start up.... or i could just be an irritent...

Sorry for the delay in getting back with you. Thank you for your help with this matter. I sat down with an electrical guy and he found the problem to be in the power converter (box). One of the connections inside the box had a short in it and was giving power on and off (which explained the lights going on and off).
I was EXTREMELY relieved...the replacement part cost me $60 w/ shipping. Which was fine with me. Now everything is working fine, and I lost nothing.

I have now backed up my entire system just in case.
