I know how to BOUNCE from one adat to the other but let's say

I have a 6 part harmony that I like, and I want to just place that
harmony in 3 spots ((1st chorus, 2nd chorus, 3rd chorus))
but on the same tape.

I know I could bounce to a second adat, then bounce back, but still it's in the same spot, not at 2nd chorus or 3rd.

As of now, I've just been singing through 2,3rd choruses
any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi,

You need to set the offset between the two machines. I don't have a manual here with me so I can't tell you exactly how. I have done it and it wasn't hard. If you don't have a manual handy email me and I will go into detail on how it is done. I will be busy tonight but can give a answer tommorrow morning for sure.

I have seen a thread like this one before so if you search you might get something sooner. Let me know. Are you ADATS XT20's?

1-XT, and 2-LX20's

My main one is the ADAT XT -- ((not 20))
but the other two are LX20

I have the manual, but when it specifies offset, do they mean
Offset the second adat to the spot I want to record on
(i.e.) fast forward to spot to copy to then transfer?

is that it..

I was just scared if I offset my adats, I wont get it back to line up
correctly.

something like that. you have to find the difference in time and plug that in as your offset so when they sync you can track copy and the chorus will get plugged into the second chorus spot. then do it again for the third chorus. I forget the details I will email you them. you are on the right track.

I will email you more clear details.

right path

Thanks nwsoundman, at least I'm on the right path , this is why I cant wait for the HD24 to come in, the cut & paste function will make all of this a lot easier.

Brian Chen at ALESIS tried to get me to order one, ((I know they are on back order)) duuuuugggh why am I going to pay my money and then wait till mid September or October, I might as well hold on to my money and wait till it's here, so I can

TOUCH -- FEEL and CRITIQUE it MYSELF

Though I've read enough on the specs, I know I need it and will get it (hooo, hooo, hoooooo ha ah aha hahaha ) mad scientist laugh (( hoooooo hooooo ha ha haa haha hah aha hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa cough aaaa))

bouncing

Sorry to be late with the email. By the way you have mail. If more questions let me know.

Thanks mailman (ha ha ha)

Thanks nwsoundman/mailman --- I got your email, and it is well appreciated, ha ha ha

I am glad

I am glad you got it. I had about 5 hours of sleep this weekend and I was dilerious when I mailed you. Long day at work, long night recording, early morning boat ride to salmon fishing. Need some sleep. How did it work for ya?

Fender Repair

I have used American Music in the Fremont area before. Had them repair a Marshall and a Peavy before. They are the only service center here that I have experience with. They are factory authorized for Fender stuff.
