I just have a question? I dont hear any difference between 24, 16, 8 Resolution when bouncing to disk! Can someone explain please!!! Thank you

I know several people that can't readily hear a difference between 16 and 24-bit. But if you can't hear a difference between 16 and 8 bit, you should probably have your hearing checked (seriously).

Explanation? Word length (and therefore, dynamic resolution) of the bounce. 8-bit, 16-bit or 24-bit. 24-bit is a "standard" (for lack of a better term) resolution for pretty much everything up to the final delivery format where it might be changed to 16-bit (for CD-A) or what not.

What bit are you recording (each track) in?

i'm not an expert, but as far as my knowledge goes - to benefit from a higher bit you will need to record all your tracks at that higher bit..(Not Just When Bouncing) That's really the only thing that i can understand that you are doing wrong, cause like Massive said there is most definitely a difference in 8 v/s 24.

Again, I'm no Bruce Swedien but here is what i do

record all tracks at 24bit 88.2
bounce to stereo at the same resolution
open the stereo mix and add my overall processing to the track then dither down to 16 / 44.1 and burn the track to CD

i used to do the same process starting out at 16 / 44.1 (a few years ago)
but now i get a little more natural volume.

well i hope this helps
