Master Baiter
I got my shipment from 8th street yesterday, including a SP B1 and 2 CAD GXL2200's (to rip apart and destroy by ignorant modification - but what the hell for $50 apiece. BTW they have a 100Hz/6db rolloff switch not noted in the specs.) I already have a Behringer B1 and MXLv67, so thought I would try a comparison.
Signal chain: mic -- audiobuddy -- Dman PCI card. No EQ, no effects. The mic is at eye level, pointed 45 degrees down. Voice is about one foot away, singing straight ahead.
The guitar was mic'd with MXL603.
1st 2 verses CAD
2nd 2 verses Behringer
3rd 2 verses SP
4th 2 verses MXL
Disclaimer - I'm not a singer, guitar player or recording engineer. I don't have a studio. No nasty comments please.
The only real difference I could tell was the SP was flatter, without the high freq bump that the others have. Of course the mp3 format detracts also. They all sounded reasonable to my ignorant ears.
