Anybody using this with a keyboard or Hammond as a leslie simulator? I was just wondering how realistic the sound is. I've watched it on youtube and it seemed pretty good. Anybody actually using it?
I have one, personally I prefer it for the guitar and I think that was more the market it was made for. It does have a guitar or key switch. I tried with my yamaha S90( basically classic motif no sequence) and my Roland VK8. it seemed that adding any drive was to brittle on the keyboards moreso the yamaha but even the roland. On the guitar it sounds excellent. Could've just been not spending hours trying to make it work. If your in America you should be able to go to any guitar center to try it out, take it to the pro audio guy and they'll set it up.Or better yet bring your board
I have one and use it with an OB3 Hammond Simulator (or sometimes with a Hammond sound from Yamaha module) - It is the best "Leslie" simulation I've found in that price range (and I've tried a lot of various Leslie simulations). I agree the overdrive is a little brittle - a little goes a long way) - but my OB3 has a convincing overdriver .... so I really don't need the RT20 overdrive.
I had a friend om who is an old school player (he has owned Hammonds and Leslies both gigging and recording for about 40 years) - he was very impressed with the RT20
I'm very satisfied and my endless search for a "real" Hammond/Leslie sound has come to an end with the combination of the OB3, the RT20 and a little reverb.
