Which is better for distortion? I'll be using it for live gigs. I currently have the MT-2 and I like the distortions in it. I play mostly rock music and some metal. Have any of you guys used the GT-8? What's your opinion on it? If you have both, what's your pick over the other and why? I had a friend who has the GT-8 and does not know how to use it. Any recommendations or suggestions are welcome.

Thanks:cool:

I won't play ANYWHERE unless I have my 1970's MXR Distortion+ in my pedal chain!

IMHO Best EVER made - Boss makes nice delays and chorus - but compression, phase, and distortion pedals by MXR Rule the sound world... especially the vintage 70's and up to mid 80's models.

GT-8's just take a LONG time to fiddle with (unless you're an old techno-geek with too uch time on your hands like me). Main suggestion is "find the sounds you like" from preset tones, and tweak as needed. BUT - save them in an order that matches your bands playlist! Even if you need to save the same sound a few times, always have them saved in the order to play in your playlist.

Hope that helps!

the Distortion on my GT 8 is very nice and no line interference noise when the guitar is not being played. There is nothing more annoying to anaudience than loud buzzing noises from a distortion pedal when the fricken guitard forgets to turn it off between songs. As far as the other Boss MT2 I do not like it; I would rather have a Danelectro Fab distortion for 15 bucks LOL, another good multi effects processor whth good distortion is the Zoom GFX 3... Awesome little pedal built like a tank designed for a gigging musician that is hard on equipment and very affordable.
