I'm looking for something with alot of valuable options. Ive looked at the Boss GT-3 and GT-6. I've also looked at the Line 6 POD XT and the Korg AX1500 G. As far as rackmounts I've looked at the Rocktron Replifex and the Boss GX700. The TC Electronic G-Major. I didn't have time to read every last thing of which these were capable. What is the standard as far as guitar processors in the 400 dollar range if there even is one?

I've always been weary of buying guitar processors like these but reading what these 2 can do makes me think that they might be worth it even if I sell it somewhere down the road to buy individual pedals. It will be used mainly for recording (maybe live on occasion) and I play out of a 50 Watt Mesa Studio Caliber DC-2 1X12 Combo.

The GT-8 and GNX3000 look pretty impressive to me. Does anyone have experience with either of these or something else that might be a good, more urgent solution than dropping a couple G's on a loaded pedalboard?

Bottom line is this. If you want something with lots of options and don't mind spending lots of time tweaking get the GT8. If you would rather not spend lots of time tweaking get the GNX3000. GNX3000 also has better editing software and usb connection. GT8 works better if you're going to use your amps distortion and just need a unit for effects. If you're gonna use the pre-amps in the modellers, i would lean toward the GNX3000. Depends how you're gonna use it and if you're a tweaker or not. I use the GT8 and the digital SPDIF works great for recording into a computer. Check out www.thestompbox.net for better reviews.

cool thanks daveg62. That website really explains the GT-8 in detail. I do like the distoriton on my mesa so maybe the GT-8 would be a better choice for me. I'm gonna tweak with them both before choosing though of course. Im pretty surprised that a guitar processor can be 24 bit. Nonetheless, I'm pretty excited.

I run a GT-6 in my rig. The pre amps are just awful, but the effects are real nice, especially the leslie simulator they have.

Dude if you got a Mesa, then hands down, get the GT-8. You already have beautiful distortion, so you'll just be needing the effects......right? Pod XTL is poo hooked up to an amp. Not sure about the Digitech. Although I do know this, you can't move the effects around in the chain on the Digitech. If you're planning on running the 4 cable method, this is a must. Good luck.
