Boss DR-202

Pretty good sounds for "URBAN" styles or music. Lot's of drums and basses that have a decent amount of tweakable parameters to keep em useful. The sequencer is pretty good as far a drum machine goes. Pattern based and the mute function is dope.

Only has the RCA outputs...

One thing I of great importance to note is the "NOISE" the thing makes. It's pretty damn noisy... If you plan to multitrack a bunch of drm track then do not this thing because you will have a bunch of noisy tracks adding up your mix. The only reason I keep mines is to sample the sounds from it. That way I can set the envelopes to cut of right at the end ofthe sound and eleminate the noise dutring the dead areas. If I had remebered a guy who used to come to my lab years before I got mines I'd probably not bought the DR.202. He asked about killing the noise and I sugested battery power... Nope it's just noisy.... But it's cool if you need a grimey, grungy, rough sound.

Overall the noise is a big thing but if you track stereo drums, use it live, just don't care about the noise then the type of sounds you can get in one spot are almost worth it. I suggest a sample like a ASR-X pro and some net hunting or pre fab kits.
