I bought a Roland BOSS digital 4 track and know how to use the basics of it - recording on the tracks and mixing them etc. But I have a question about something.

How can I record my vocal track, then add an effect to it with a program such as Soundforge, and then put it back onto one of my tracks on my digital studio? I understand how to record the vocal on track 2 for example, then open it on soundforge and add the effect, but how do I put it back onto my digital 4 track so I can use it for the song?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You would need to re-record the track into the 4 track with the effects.

Don't have to rerecord onto 532

You have a BR-532. BOSS has a website that has wave conversion software for the BR-532.

Your BR-532 tracks are recorded onto SmartMedia.

You need a SmartMedia reader for your PC.

Then what you do is:
Put the BR-532 files onto your PC by copying from the SmartMedia.

Convert the track you want to effect in SoundForge using the BOSS Wave Converter for the 532. You'll end up with a WAV file.

Open the wave file in SoundForge, and process with the effects. Save it.

Using the BOSS wave converter again, convert the wave file to a 532 format file, and put it back on the SmartMedia in the song you took it from.

At that point, you should have it in the song when you open the song on the 532, with the effects you want.
