Hi there,,To start with I am trying to learn more about my Boss br8 and trying to decide if I should get the new br1180.the software that roland gave me to make wave files works great.Does that same software need to be used to make cds with the 1180?if not ,how do I make a finished cd with the new 1180?I have a computer with Mil.system ,,256ddr memory,,creative soundblaster 5.1 with live drive. Please contact me with any info. All I will be recording is acoustic guitar and vocals,,,,,,,James Taylor or Gordon Lightfoot style music,,,,but my own stuff.

What kind of software did you get from Roland, I use cakewalk to burn cd's with but dont really like it.

Roland software

It was what Roland promised when I bought the recorder. It lets you use a zip drive to change your material from br-8 format to a wav file or reverse.Once you bounce everything to a left and right track, the roland br-8 software can then make it a wav so you can send it to your cd-writer and copy it for backup.I got some other software with my soundblaster sound card but I don't know how to use it.I just started using computers resently.

So you are saying it converts the recordings into a format that can be read by the computer........How can i get a copy? What is it called?

Br-8 wav format

I'll send you a link when I get home(I'm at work) or you can go to Google.com and do a search on boss br8 and it should be there in the first 5 listings.I think that is how I found it. Send me an email at dh57@wnclink.com if you can't find it and I'll send it to you.
