Hi
just bought a br 600 off ebay and want to test it out on my pc - not to record yet but just to play my guitar through the pc speakers and test out the various effects and drum patterns and stuff.

My pc has finally found it via the usb connection and ive got a boss br 600 shortcut and everything!
but the only read out I've got on the br 600 is 'USB import idling' I've pressed every button read the manual plugged in the guitar and nothing - what do I do next to make it work ... please help me somebody !!!

Thanks in advance

The USB is used for transferring files from the br to the pc or vice versa....it is not an interface, so you will not be able to have real time sound come out of the pc speakers.

Plug some headphones into the br or hook it up to a stereo or something.

The BR-600 is equipped with a USB port for connecting the BR-600 directly to computers, allowing you to carry out the following operations.
● Backing up the BR-600’s data
● Saving BR-600 track data in WAV/AIFF format (WAV/
AIFF Export)
● Loading WAV/AIFF files in BR-600 tracks (WAV/AIFF Import)
● Importing SMFs and creating patterns
● Loading drum sounds from WAV/AIFF files

It's working as it's supposed to. You'll access the BR600 via Windows Explorer, as you would any removable media. It's purely for file transfer.

Excellent!- its all starting to make sense now thanks very much

Hi There,
I have recently purchased a Boss BR 600, I connected the USD to my PC running Win XP. When I power up BR600 it does not automaticaly detect the BR unit. Is there a set up? Do I nee drivers or do I have to push any particular bottons. Pardon me I am a newbee, you assistance is much appreciated.
Thanks
Vic

You have to put the BR600 in USB mode (from its menu).

Thanks Mike, I would have never figured it out. The manual says the OS (Win XP) will automatically detect the USB unit.

And that's exactly what it does ... when you have the BR600 in USB mode.
