I got the BR1600 myself, but does anybody on an BR machine got any reverb settings they would like to share ?

ie: Do you just start from default and tweak from there or do you have some great setup that really works well on a certain type of instrument ?

My ear cannot very well tell the difference between Hall/Plate/ or Room reverb... (is it me, or can I blame my monitors??)

Anybody have any reverb insight in general ???

I almost ALWAYS use the Plate setting, and dial the tone knob to about +3 or 4. Not sure how I came to those settings, but that seems to work best for my voice etc.

Thanks for the tip SP,

I'll try that tonight...

anybody else got any reverb settings they like ?

For me it depends on the song I'm working on. Vey little reverb on some songs gives a more intimate, close feel to the song, while others call for a "bigger" sound. For vocals I like to have a little reverb while I'm tracking (around 15 on Hall), but not too much because it can make your vocal performance lazy-- if you make it as dry as you can stand it while you're tracking you're forced to pay more attention to the notes you're singing, I think. So if you sing it as well as you possibly can and it sounds decent dry: it'll sound that much better with some reverb added.

I do this with pretty much every instrument. Then when I'm playing it back I try to make everything fit into the mix. I've played around a little with the room/hall/plate settings but not enough to have favorite settings yet.
