I posted this in the other forum but I think I should have put it here...sorry for the double-post....first visit to these forums...:/

Hi all,

I am new to here and fairly new to recording. I recently purchased the BR-1200CD and have pretty much figured out all the basics that I need to get started with my recording.

The one thing I can't figure out is how to record the drum pattern while also listening to my guitar track that I have layed down. It is not too much of an issue with the main drum beats but for other parts to include tom rolls and symbol crashes it is difficult to do without listening to the guitar track at the same time.

I am thinking there has to be a way to do this but I just can't figure it out.

If anyone can help me I will owe them one big time.

Thanks,

Tony

Hi Tones

Unfortunately you don't owe me much, because what you're asking can't be done. That is, I think you are asking how do you listen to the audio tracks while you are programing drum patterns: right?

Once you are down in that mode where you program hits in step or real pattern mode you cannot hear the audio from recorded tracks. Full stop. Sorry.

I get around this by exiting the programing mode every couple of program changes to test the modified pattern against the recorded material.
