I've always had bootup problems with my system, but since I reinstalled Win98 it's gotten worse. Well, actually, it's gotten much worse since I enabled DMA the other day. What happens is this: while all the system specs are being displayed onscreen during bootup, it often hangs at the point when this message is being displayed: "Verifying DMI Pool data". I then have to shut everything off and go through a slow Safe Mode bootup. What a pain.
Anybody got an inkling about what might be going on with this one?
