who wants to play the mic guessing game? i'm guessing all ldc's. one infront of the bd 2+' away, and a close (to eachother) stereo pair??? out front/ above of the kit. nice compression over the kit too.

i have only listened very quietly as the missus is stil in bed (sunday morning in australia), and the only headphones i have handy are shitty walkman inear suckers. but i think i may be close. definatly the LDC B.D. sound though :)

No, Good Times Bad Times is not on there.
It's Bonzo alright, no mistake.
It's funny how he yells and howls thru the fills.

I already know what they used.
Overheads :Stereo pair of AKG C12's
Room Mics: Stereo Pair of C12A's
Kick: 1 EV RE20 on the resonant side : Sennheiser MD 421 on the Batter side.
Snare: A Sennheiser Shotgun mic about 10' above the snare drum, aimed dead center. I don't know the model number, but it was silver colored and about 18" long.

Periodically, they also used a Shure 545 - the SM57's predecessor on the Batter side Kickhead, instead of the Sennheiser.

Jeff Ocheltree, Bonham's Drum Tech, goes through the mic'ing technique using Bonham's Green Sparkle drumkit, as well as a reissue of the Bonham Vistalite kit. It's on the DVD "Trust Your Ears"

Here's a video from it.

Honestly, I don't like Zepplin that much. But I like Bonham's technique. He is the man seriously I had no clue. Anyone know if there is any other bands hes played with?

Do you guys think this was recorded in a pretty big room? It sounds like it was to me but I am n00b...
