last night i recorded some bogos and i got a great sound:
miced it with a pg81, the mic was placed 1 foot over and half a foot in front of the bongo's and in between the two drums. i ran the mic straight thrue a presonus tubepre then to the recorder. minimal compression and eq.
result: beutiful sound, accurate, great attack, exotic features of the bongo's shine thrue.
i u have little mony and u wanna record great sounding bongo's go for it, its worth it.
