Bogged Down Sonar 6 PE

I am using SOnar 6 PE on my laptop, its not the beefiest of rigs, but it has handled 8 simultaneous ins and playback on Cubase LE just fine. When I use Amplitube on more than one channel, it lags sickly. Is it that processor heavy? What are some tricks i can do to free up some CPU head room?

What's the specs on your laptop?
Cubase LE doesn't have nearly the minimum requirements.

I'm running a P4 2.3 512 (soon to upgrade).

W/ a few effects running, V-Vocal chokes it everytime,
refuses to launch, ocassionally presents me w/ the BSO'D.

Um...off the top of my head (its not in front of me)

2.5 Ghz AMD Turion 64
1GB RAM
128 MB ATI Radeon Video
80GB Hard drive (Only 15 GB Used)
-note: I often save the Audio files via firewire to an external 120GB

I am using the Firepod, only one input at a time. I have found bouncing tracks works a little bit, but i dont like giving up that manipulation ability.

I honestly think it might be that Amplitude is resource heavy. Thoughts?

I had the same problem with Guitar Rig. My machine is really quite powerful but even with 5 Guitar Rig's open it starts to lag quite badly. I just freeze tracks and unfreeze when I want to edit them.

Sonar does seem to have a bit of a problem handling plugins. Especially my waves plugins!

I've used amplitube in on sesion 3 or 4 times with no problem. I have sanor 5 pe. Not sure why your getting that. Is it a buffer issue?
