Hello,
Just wanted to let anyone else that might be interested in buying a BLUE mic know what I found out.
I've been searching high and low for 2 days for any kind of info on the dragonfly and found zip!Even SOS magizine didn't have any reviews at all on BLUE mics, and they review everything.

I searched out about 60 recording studios, checked their mic list, and 1 had a bluberry listed.90%of them had Neumanns though.

I have a dragonfly on layaway at GT,I was going to go for the Neumann, but the salesman talked me into the Blue.Iv'e known him for years, and he gave me full price on the mics I traded in(thank God for small miricles),so I don't think he was trying to steer me wrong.

I'm going to have to go with the Neumann though,(60 odd studios can't be wrong).I'd like to demo them both but I don't think I can.

Besides the Neumann is definitly the mic of choice around here, and you guys were dead on about the NT1.Well that's my 1&1/2 cents worth.

Thanks,

Pete

what neumann mic(s) are you looking at? depending on what neumann your getting..I think the BLUE mics are way more versital. YMMV.

Hi Ametth,
Thanks for your reply, the Neumann I was looking at is TLM103,and that is what my friend at G.T.told me also, the Dragonfly would be a better all around mic for me.

It will be my only mic for some time,I'll use it for amp micing, acoustic guitar, but my real goal is to get the best vocal mic I can.

If you can elaborate on what you know or have heard about the Blue mics I would really appreciate it,I looked around on the web and it's like Blue doesn't exist, except on their web site.Any info you can give me on the Dragonfly or the Mouse would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much,
Pete

To Recording Engineer

Hi,
I just wanted to apologize for posting 2 threads on the same subject,I didn't mean to,I must have hit new thread instead of post reply when replying to my first post, sorry about that.

The TLM is a fine mic too. I would suggest trying out the different mics on your voice, because thats your goal. Choose the one that sounds best on your voice. Then you can work with mic placement, eq, etc..for the other instruments. Good luck. Let us know which mic you pick.
