I found this video Blue Microphones Icicle XLR to USB Converter Review and Audio Test vs. M-Audio Fast Track Pro - YouTube

Blue icical compared to m-audio fast track pro. The test is in the end of the video. I found no difference between the both and their is a lot of price difference. What do you say?

Will it be good for a start and give audio quality. It will be needed for singing like covers etc. Only one input required just for a microphone.

I ordered my interface though, this ques. is a friend of mine who wants to buy equipment for himself.

The Icicle will be a dead end but at least you'll be using a real microphone.

Biggest problem with the icicle is that you'll never be able to monitor your track unlike the fast track you'll have a headphone out. ;)

The icicle is decent -- far better than using a USB microphone. I considered buying one quite some time ago and did a ton of research on it. It's really not a bad device. As moresound said, you won't be able to monitor easily from it. If you're just doing vocal covers, this probably wouldn't be too much of a problem. You could still listen to a backing track. Anything beyond that, good luck.

It's not bad, but it's really limiting. I'd go for a fast track or something similar if you want more in the future.

If monitoring isn't a requirement. So quality wise is it good?
And I've seen many reviews saying it stops working after few months. Is that true?
