Just picked up 2 of the RS. Still can't believe I bought RS mics  Tried both on the kick and it really didn't do anything for me. Tried them on toms and was actually surprised. Nice addition to my "arsenal" as modest as it is. You just can't have too many mics :D

Hey, I told everybody that they sucked on kick.

Hey Harvey,
I didn't mean it as a slam. I was just curious so I tried it on the kick anyhow with the same results you had.

I a/b'ed it with the cheapy Nady kick mic that came with my drummer's cheapy nady drum kit. The nady beat it on low end and oomph. However yes. toms, they're nice.

And I should have a few of them at my store, btw... Not too many people have ever bought them up here.

Well, what freaked me out when I was looking right before I bought was the freq resp being from 90hz-18khz... thats a pretty early steep cutoff... I can see it being lousy on a kick or bass instrument since its rolling off the fundamental. Must say, for $20, it'll serve its purpose well. $60 for 3 mics. Yeah, maybe one more. The cables I am attaching to them cost more than the mic! :)

can someone post recordings of the RS and maybe a couple of others for reference? SM-57, E604, ATM25, AT Pro25? All of the same thing please

Still on Sale

They are on sale till the end of august here in texas. You may have to hit up a few stores to find any quantity. I just bought 4 for about the price of 1 sm57. I did a quick listen a/b'd against the sm57s I usually use and my impression is they are light on the lower end, but really clear-transparent on top. They seemed to handle loud levels without crappin' out. They easily clip to the snare to mic the underside and really sound great for the snares side. They don't have very good feedback rejection but if you don't run drums in your live monitors, these would probably work pretty good for live sound.I just put my company sticker over the tiny r/s name just for my pride factor. :)

The recommendation was for close micing toms. I repeat that in case anyone was thinking of clipping one to a singer's nose for use as a vocal mic. But now that I mention it...

Damn... I hate americans bragging about stuff that you cannot get over here. BAH! You are all spoiled little rats. That's what you are. I'll beat the crap out of every single one of you if I ever have enough money to afford all the gear I want and still have something left for the planeticket. Every last one of ya! You hear me?! BAH!

We prefer the term brats. We're spoiled little brats. But it ain't because we can afford Radio Shack mics, as I'm sure you're aware.

Yeah, we're a pretty small country... I think you can take us all... :)

Hey, Roel's BAD, man. I see him getting off a plane stateside I'll start running.

Brats, rats... whatever. :D Euhm... I just missed the B... ehehe. :p

That sentence: I can take you all got a funny story to it. There was this drunk idiot messing with us... About 20 of us were standing there, laughing, and he was angry with all of us, drunk as hell... He'd change subjects every minute, just didn't make any sense. And he was saying that: I can take all of you! And this guy said, well, start with this big one over here, I'm betting 50euro on him. So the drunk said: "what's he gonna do?? I make one phonecall and in 5 minutes there's 500 people here to back me up." So we all bursted into laughter. "500 People? Why don't you call the entire town at once???" To which he replied:"What? Why would I need that?? I can take all of you myself!"

That's 2 contradictions in about 4 sentences. :D That was funny. He moved on, then came back with another hyperkynetic dude, they started 2 fights, we called the cops, cops came, they are talking to the cops, starting a fight with some of us in front of the cops... They both got a ride to the police office. :D hehe. These guys were as dumb as they get. That was a good laugh.

Drunk voice: "What? You think you're better than me? Is that it?!"

hm.... could that be a terrorist threat?

How would these mics do as Guitar Cab mics?
My Radioshack has 2 and I am going to go get them both.
