went to the flea market and an 8 string 50's Muli Kord 4 pedal pedal steel followed me home.
i guess i have a challenge ahead.
I need to give her a shot. Got to clean her up, get a book, a slide, new strings etc. It is in pretty good condition for its age and at a flea market. Everything on it works, I don't know if it works correctly but it works.
365.00

It is the exact same as this one but with only one neck, four pedals. It is red and has pickup covers. Everything else is the same. Same fretboard etc.

A Multi Cord isnt really a pedal steel. Theyre cool, but the few I have fooled with had some serious intonation issues with the mechanical side. If nothing else, Its an awesome piece of eyecandy! Let us know how it works out!

could have fooled me. anyways, I am a machinist, anything it needs I can make. Made some parts for other pedal steels in the past.

LOL! Wasnt trying to insult it! Just saying that it wont have the same stops and copedants that "MODERN" steels have. Its been years since Ive seen one, its a pully/cable system ala Fender right?

Get us some pics of the undercarriage when ya get a chance!

Cool. I'm a sucker for another toy to learn and that looks kinda cool.

I'd be interested to hear how it sounds after you get the gist on playin it. If you decide to post a clip, shoot me a pm, huh?

Happy Tracking...

Just bumpin this up to see how it turned out with new strings?

Sha-weet! How'd I miss this one. Congrats & have fun!

I haven't put new strings on it yet because I am still trying to ascertain what size strings should be on it. The ones I took off measured as follows, .056, .047,
.036, ..024, .016, .012, .012, .012. I thought it odd that there would be three strings .o12 the same so I am looking into it. I also don't know what to tune it to but I did find a tuning for it on the web for a six string MultiKord

"These guitars came with a deep socket wrench with a screwdriver in the middle so while tuning with the screwdriver you could lock and unlock the lock nuts on the changer so it would stay in tune.
