Hello,

I just installed a Lynx One and have tried to import my PC Drummer wav. N-track is only resampling about a fourth of the wav. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is occuring?

Thanks,
Rusty K

Try going in file/preferences and check off the 44100 sampling frequency....

Gidge,

Like a dummie I had forgotten to do just that at first and not only was the song 3min short but it was playing way slow. I realized that I had forgotten to change the dufault sample freq. in preferences. I did that and tried again and that's when the song was at the correct tempo but still short. I'm stumped. I've had other conversion probs with N-track and had to email Flavio to get a new build.

I've found that ntrack's sample rate converter is not very good. Try using coolEdit. Its converter is slow, but ends up sounding much better.

bdemenil,

My wav editor is Goldwave. I have been able to get the conversion there. It is fast but it sounds ok so far. N-track conversions take about 10 min on a 3min. song. I have had it take as long as 15min. Obviously lenth of time doesn't seem to be a factor at least in my experience.

I think there is some connection between conversion quality and time. Better algorithims for this do more number crunching. i got turned off of ntrack's conversion when I started noticing funny harmonics being added to the sound. They were only clearly audible on sparse music (as opposed to dense - with a lot of different stuff going on). cooledit's converter has a good reputation.

Yes I know what you mean. I was getting a high frequency chirp/whistle when resampling. I contacted the author of the software and he sent me a new build which cleared up that problem but it seems there are others.

Well what you say about time sounds logical but right now I'm just happy to be able to resample at all.

Thanks,

Rusty K
