BIOS update... asus p2bf

Hiya, geniuses. Heres my problem

I'm running an ASUS p2bf... and the bios is v.1009. technically, this doesnt support my celly800, bbut Im running it right now....

ANYWAY!! there is a bios v1013a, now.. and id like to upgrade it.

however, I have failed with flash, aflash, pflash, and pflash2. The first two report "unknown flash type" and the second two "wrong size update" or somesuch. the bottom line being that the OLD bios I save is only 128k.. and all the new ones I wanna put on are 256.

in addition....no in addition. any ideas?

Hmmm... not sure what the problem could be. I assume you have followed all of this:

You might also try switching whatever the value currently is in the BIOS UPDATE setting in the BIOS, but it should have nothing to do with it.

I have flashed my ASUS P3V4X mb a few times with no problem, but dont recall haveing flashed any of the older ones. I believe I used AFlash. Unless I'm trying to fix a specific problem, I tend leave the BIOS alone. If your Celeron is working, I say "Dont worry, be happy"

well, there is a bitty little problem, and it says that it is fixed in later versions.

yes, I tried all that stuff... but Ill look into this Bios Update Value biz.

ok, you swansies.

I have halfway worked around the problem, but I still need Help!!

I failed using the following:

aflash
flash
pflash
pflash2 and
phlash

BUT... Further info:

My board is v1.00 . The Original.

My original Bios...v1009

NOW, I succeeded today on pushing my bios to v1011.. by using ASUS Live Update, a windows prog... only I had to do it a step at a time............

and now.. the error is that the new bios file is TOO OLD!!! and I noticed that v1011 was made in 99... wheras 1012, 1013 and 1013a are all built in 2000 A K A "00"!!!!.

CLEARLY this is a y2k problem.

SO!! the question is this... how do I change the creation date on a file?? help it out, guys... I need to get to v1013 for coppermine support.
