Confused Things

Ok, here we go folks. Mister man here (that would be yours truly, that being me) has a Roland JX-305 and Cool Edit Pro 1.2. I do not like midi, which is probably a good thing since Cool Edit Pro doesn't like Midi either. (You have just read a good thing.)

Bad thing:

I have a few tunes on my synth which I'd like to transfer to the computer to edit in the multitrack and add some vocals to. The problem is this: syncronization. It's ok with some tracks, I rely on my own, let's say, ability... I simply match up the tracks and cut my loops here there and everywhere. But when I'm recording reggae tracks, songs with irregular timing, and anything with a drum beat that stutters, it's a bit more difficult to match things up.

The Last Thing:

What the hell can I do to make things easier on myself? Is there anyway that I can make the synth send a signal when I start playing and recording each individual track (bass, rhodes, drums, etc.) from the synth to the computer so that at the end it's just a matter of visually lining them up? Can CEP do this itself? I know this is long-winded and all mumbly, but I'm screwed in the head, I just know I am, just one of those things...

Help.

Well, I hope I don't tread on anybody's corns here, but in this forum we're more or less muddling through on the level of 'find your foot'.

What I suggest, if you don't already know about this (and I think you probably do, but anyway...) is check out this forum:

I'd appreciate it if you posted your query there, because I'm interested to find out if it's one of the radio guys who responds. Radio guys like CEP and know it best. They do it for a living.
