Beware of Vista!

The DAW pc is NOT online...no need to be..it is over 4 years old and still smokes this newish (less than a year old) pc on audio and video apps....the daw is very streamlined tho..the only software on is studio stuff and the OS. I run Sound Forge on both and file processing is about 25% faster on the daw vs the office. I would never measure pc speed with web surfing. WAY too many other variables to consider..I plan on updating the DAW after I finish 2 concurrent projects but you can bet your a$$ I am loading my 2000 Pro on it as I will be using all the same studio hardware and interfaces and they are running great...Would like a little more horsepower for my convolution reverb plugs.....

Millenium???? The only thing worse than that was BOB... I can't believe anyone could prefer that over XP...

or are you going linux/solaris/DOS??
 
i think 98 SE was microsofts best work personally. everything else gave me nothing but problems, but 98 was pretty darn stable back in the day.
