Hey there, this is my first post so hello. I'll start with this cover of the George Harrison song "Beware of Darkness." I prefer the acoustic version to the electric from "All things must pass." I've pretty much kept it the same as the acoustic but using the lyrics / structure from the electric version. Hope you enjoy it to some extent, and let me know what you think! I'm trying to improve my singing, which as you'll see is sub-par at some points during the song.. I'm probably going to have to practice some more and re-record it.

If I could play the drums they'd kick in at about 0:50 :)

I tried doing some solo stuff over the break at about 2:30 but nothing was working :-/

HOwdy,

It sounds pretty good, I remember this song quite well. The voice is a bit muddy and could be boosted up a bit. The recording has a retro, 70s sound to it. Yeah, the vocals are buried at times, bring them up. The stuff in the background can come down, its getting in the way. Nice job. :)

The vocals are a bit pitchy throughout.

The playing is fine. The fake strings are a nice touch over the basic guitar part (doubled). It's a great choice of songs, with the 'All Things Must Pass' album providing a wealth of material for ambitious cover artists, such as ourselves. You sound really young, too.

Take a deep breath, sing out more forte' & work on pitch.

Most of all, have fun!

Welcome to the board! ;)

Thanks for the feedback, I definitely need to work on the singing. I was trying to do them in one take (there are two different tracks of vocals doing practically the same thing, might also account for some of the muddiness) but I think I could probably polish it up if I broke it down a bit.
