I used to own a Behringer EuroRack MX 2642a rack-mount mixer. Actually, I still do, I just don't know where it is.
It developed a problem with the gain pot on channel 1, so I took it to the dealer for repair. That was January 3rd, 2000. The dealer couldn't fix it (?), so they called for an RMA from Behringer. Getting one and an address to send the mixer to took three months. The mixer was finally sent to some warehousing company in Fife, Washington on March 31. In April I called regarding its whereabouts. The dealer couldn't tell me. They said they'd get back with me. I gave them until mid-May, then called again. The dealer told me they were having trouble contacting Behringer. They gave me all the information they had, including the RMA #, tracking #, and Customer Support phone #. So I called Behringer myself. I talked to some guy who said it probably went to Germany, but should've been back. Told me he'd get back to me within the week. He never called back.

I have since been calling Behringer Customer Service once about every 2-3 weeks regarding my mixer. Every time I actually get someone on the phone, I get the same story. They can't find it, but will get back with me in a couple days. They have told me this five times now. They never answered any voice mail or email messages I have sent them.
To make a long story (pushing 8 months) short, I've concluded that Behringer's customer service completely sucks and they couldn't give a shit about me or my mixer. I've ordered a Mackie.

Hey don't give up on it.
Send them a letter from a lawyer and if there is no response I would sue the person responsibile in small claims court.

hey, I live around there.. want me to go beat some asses??

xoxoxo

Sorry to say that this is not the first horror story I've heard about Behringer gear that had to be repaired.I wrote about an incident I was familiar with a couple of months ago in this BBS,it wasn't me but someone I know.Whatever else you may think about the question,at least Mackie stuff is made here and you can call them any day of the week and talk to an English speaking human...I have a 1402 VLZ and I've never had to have it serviced since 1996.

Er... don't you think that you should give Behringer a break? The UK part of the company went bust a couple of years back and since then, anything that needs special care HAS to go to Germany. It's a hassle, sure, and from that story above, would seem like a nightmare come true. But I am a very happy Behringer mixer user and and will continue to buy Behringer products that really help me out.

Lets face it, how many people have a great amount of cash to spend on a really well built and great sounding Mackie? My budget tells me that I should try to get the best value for money and the Behringer mixers are amazing value. In fact, I rate them as the second best mixer to use, obviously next to Mackie's.

well i own a 2642a , and this is not good to hear .... If pot one goes then i think i will be hesitating about sending it to germany.. i use it everyday and shailat , if i sued 8 months loss would work out to a bit...but definetly the way to go ...thats just a joke i think. Even though i havent had a problem with any of the behringer products ive bought , hearing about these types of stories really makes me wonder if my investment was the best one ...
But definetly this has to be sorted ... What the hell do they think their saying , "we dont know where your mixer is" , i would be like "what the f**k u mean u lost it!!!"..
thats just way not good enough from any company selling a product whether it cost 100 dollars or a thousand dollars..
Perhaps the lawyer option could be in order .. Or a public address... Anyway , hope u get this sorted out , cos it really sux hearing about this type of thing ... anyway , thats my view ..
cheers all

Sorry also to say,Behringer comps good, mixers bad!!!!!!!
I owned a 2624mx and the sucker blew out, power supply and all. I bought it brand new from Sam Ash and had for about a
week.Took It back and it exchanged it for Alesis 32 (not much but a little better than a Behringer). My main complaint about the 2624's is them damn things have no
on/off switch!
IF you have saved 'bout $200.00,save a little more and invest into a Mackie 1202 or 1402. Very fine mixers.

I got ahold of the customer service manager, William Russ, today. Had to waesel my was around "Dustin," the robot agent. Russ said "I've been looking at this spreadsheet and now I know why you didn't get your mixer. A shipment scheduled to arrive on May 17 never made it."
(Oh. well, gosh, that's better - that was only THREE months ago)
He said their shipping parter, Regal Logistics, was to blame. He also said he didn't have any MX2642's to ship me but could loan me a smaller mixer until mine shows up. Hmmm. Better than a sharp stick in the eye, I guess. Will keep y'all posted.

Here's the Latest

Yikes. I just read my last post.
Just call me FatFingers. Better proof-read this one before I cut it loose . . . :o

I'd like to thank everybody who's posted replies here. I've gotten a lot of great feedback, advice, and encouragement. Russ at Behringer (actually Regal Logistics in Fife, WA) has since shipped to me an MX1804 to use until he can find me a new MX2604. It's too little too late, though, as I'm getting ready to fire up the Mackie LM 3204. If and when I receive the MX2604, I'll put it up for sale.

Just interested here, but er.. how much would you sell the 2604 mixer for? I need a replacement for my young and therefore small 602a.

Thanks,
Adam.

No need for the lawyer, you've already hurt Behringer more than you know. I've always heard stories about them, but this one is for keeps. I for one will never buy a Behringer product, simply because of their customer support. The internet goes a long way, and companies should be wise to this fact!

Good luck with your mixer!
