Blick-um, blick-um...
Just FYI- I bought an inexpensive (um, cheap but "name" brand) cymbal stand and it made my ride sound like crap. Seriously!
At first I thought the cymbal wasn't aging well, but then I threw it up on a good solid stand and it came right back to life.
I dunno, maybe the cheapo stand would work as a crash cymbal stand, but I'm just going to give it to my bass player
.
I've found that many problems are solved by replacing the washers/felts/sleeves, or adjusting the angles, etc...
but sometimes, especially with the cheaper stuff, the stand tubes will chime along with the cymbal and destroy your sound.
Just to let you know. Cheers.
