Best way to record/monitor SBLive soundfont with Audiophile2496

I have been using the AP2496 for recording, and have not been using my SBLive card but it's still in the PC.

Recently, I would like to try out soundfont drums as i have heard many good reviews from this site.

I make a search in this site but is still confused with the solution. How can I tap the sound of the soundfont from SBLive internally without any physical connection?

I played around with a drum track using soundfont last night, but can;t hear a thing. I do see the meter moving in my Windows mixer. but there's no sound coming out of my AP2496 outputs....

Pls help! :)
 
You cant. For monitoring either connect the soundblaster's outputs to your Audiophile's inputs or get a mixer to combine the outputs of your soundblaster and audiophile.

You can't...

You need to either monitor the output of the SB Live in addition to the Audiophile, or record it to audio and play it back through the Audiophile. You could also use a softsynth that outputs through the Audiophile instead of using the SB Live.

If you're using Sonar, dump the SB alltogether and use the LiveSynth DXi software synth to play SF's from the Audiophile.
 
Yes! Use a software soundfont player! It's a much nicer solution, and can work very well IMO.

I just bought the Bismark BS-1 soundfont sampler VST plug-in for $30. Works great.

You can play any soundfont directly through your 24-bit card with no need for an SBLive.

Their BS-16 will let you load multiple soundfonts for multiple instruments, too.
 
Tim, I read some mixed reviews about the bismark; specifically, negative comments came when using multiple instances of the plugin. Care to comment?

Currently I use FL but was looking for a VSTi so that I could use it in other apps.
