Hello all,

I'm rather new to recording in general so any support I can gain would be very valuable. I have browsed through the threads and searched for information on the best way to connect my DA7 and my mx2424 but I have come up short. I'm going to run some 1/4 inch connections from my trinity and my mpc into the DA7 but from the da7 I don't know if it's best, sonically speaking, to run a digital interface from the mixer to my recorder. Any ideas? Please include any interface card names that I should look into.

Thanks,
Al

The DA7 and the MX2424 can be equiped with adat or TDIF interfaces. Choose the same interface for both units, and interconnect.

Sonically, if you use digital connections between the mixer and the recorder, you lose absolutely nothing as far as quality, which is the whole point.

Regarding which interface to use - both are sonically outstanding, so I would recommend purchasing whichever is less cost.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Frederic!

I appreciate your response and I found both the ADAT and the TDIF interfaces on marsmusic.com for about 450. It says that it will give me access to all 24 tracks on the mx2424. I'm still a bit confused about the DA7 because not many people have the interfaces. Do you know if I'll have to get 3 seperate cards for the da7 to allow 24 channel output.

Also, if I need to trasfer some songs from an ADAT to my mx2424, do I have to use the ADAT interface or do adats support TDIF as well?

Thanks again,
Al
