I am currently using an SM58 for recording vocals on my 424MKII and I am looking to get a better Mic. Is the Rode NT1 a significantly better Mic for vocals than the 58? or is there even a better one for the money?

What will be the sound quality difference between the 58 and NT1 for vocal work?

Thanks for your help

You might want to try or review the Yorkville Apex 430. I just got one and it is much better than the AKG3000 I was using for vocals in my studio.

I bought the mic because I was so impressed with the Yorkville YSM-1 monitors I just purchased.

I've tested the mic and it gives a good reading on the input led's of my MD8. It sounds great through the headset. Can't wait to do something with that mic.

Can't comment on the other mics you mentioned but there is plenty of comment right here on the site; so, sit back, relax, and start clicking away.
