Best soundcard for $400-$500

Well? I want the highest quality recordings possible, as I will be using a Mackie 1604 VLZ PRO as my mixer. What would you recommend and why? Should I just save my money and go for a MOTU instead? Suggestions, please!

btw, the c-port is a "best bang for buck" recommendation. you might find a better card w/ breakout box but that thing gives you the most for your $$$.
