BEST setup you can have for 2g's..?

I had a bit of a bastard for a supervisor once upon a time (actually, I have had several) but he did have one very useful bit of advice that I have adopted....

Provide all of the information you can, even that which you consider obvious or superfluous.

What, in the blazing heck, are you asking for!?!?!?!?!?
 
Everything from mic > pre > a/d > computer?


How many channels do you need to record at a time?

search under my name and other keywords. tons of information on this topic
on bbs.
eg ; PC(athlon),mics(millions of them eg cad/senn),software(eg powertracks),mixer(eg yamaha or build your own), a/d/a (eg delta) ,
spkrs (eg yorkvilles) etc etc
 
i already have a comp....
lookin for a set up basically..
mic(mid tone voice),pre,control center,monitors,cables
its goin to be for makin hip hop...recordin vocals
