what in anyones own opinion after filtering through plugins would be the best reverb, and multiband eq plugin for you? you can also list your favorite chorus, flanging, delay, and compressor. btw, just the plugins that are useful for mixing and not mastering, unless it is excellent for both.

thank you.

anything from waves, I would say, is great. What I have is:
Renessaince Vox = great
Renessaince De-esser = great
Renessaince Bass = great
:)
Reverb 32 plug-ins are great, especially if you know how to make good settings, particularly with LOW and HIGH filters ;)

The reverb plug-ins that come with Cubase VST and SX are completely useless.... terrible-sounding....!

I use outboard myself.............

He asked for
'plug-ins", and I tried to tell him what's worth using.....but again, depends on what you're doing and how serious.I reckon VST plugins are pretty decent for homerecordists' level.....

Blue Bear....what outboard reverbs do you use? I would agree with you about the SX verbs. I don't know why they wouldn't have a better verb available, it's one of the most important effects.

I have an external unit that does verb, but it is like 8 years old and kinda noisy. I am considering buying a good verb unit, or a good effects processor with good verbs. I read in Gig Magazine that the (fairly) new TC Electronic M-300 is a great buy, with a lot of TC's verbs, but it also features a dual engine setup with one dedicated to verbs and delays, and the other engine for all the rest of the effects. Have you had any experience with this unit? I searched for it here on the site and it appears there is only one person who is really pushing it.

this could be due to my inexperience with plug ins
but the multiband Eq in Wavelab 4 work well for me

thanx

i'll look into the wavelab's. for the other comment on hardware, you also were a help. it opened my mind to a question of which set of plugins can stand up to some good hardware?

I have a pair of Lexi MPX500s, a pair of Yamaha SPX90s, a Roland 3030D, a Rocktron Intellifex, and a Lexi LXP15 mkII....

Oh... and a Behringer Virtualizer that I use for delays (the reverbs on it are shit!)

oceanside. what do you compare this freeware to? i'm not in need of a reverb plugin, i'm in need of a top of the line reverb plugin. i apreciate the link, but can you compare it to some top of the line professional plugins? i really apreciate your post. thanks
