Best Programs in Price Range?

Yo, I just got a Fostex MR-8 and mics, and blah blah. And well as everyone knows, it is made to be used with a computer, considering limited space and all. Well, I need a computer program to run with it. Just to do eq and that and dumping to add more tracks and all. Well, what is the best? I mean for around, let's say, 150? Thanks in advance!

yes, but go for 2004 xl. you get more effects and its only $150. read about it at cakewalk.com
